Nous pouvons ainsi vous aider à développer des solutions innovantes plus rapidement, à moderniser vos infrastructures IT et à adresser de nouveaux usages tout en proposant un rapport performance-prix imbattable. Et ce, pour vous permettre de contrôler l’évolution des coûts du cloud. Nous étendons aussi notre présence internationale pour être au plus près de vos marchés : d’ici deux ans, 15 nouveaux centres de données viendront s’ajouter à nos 33 datacenters répartis sur quatre continents. Vous êtes d’ailleurs de plus en plus nombreux à nous faire confiance sur les marchés américains et asiatiques, avec une croissance de près de 80 % cette année aux États-Unis et de 45 % en Asie.

• de la5G privée pour les entreprises ayant besoin d’un accès sécurisé à faible latence, peu coûteux et avec beaucoup de bande passante ;
• le déploiement des infrastructures pour accueillir les données de nombreux satellites ;
• la place de choix donnée au quantique dans nos développements.

2. Un solide écosystème

Nous avons noué une relation de confiance avec nos communautés et toutes celles et ceux qui comme nous croient en un cloud ouvert, interopérable et réversible. Octave Klaba, fondateur et président d’OVHcloud, a d’ailleurs réaffirmé notre volonté de rendre notre Public Cloud accessible à la communauté de développeurs via l’open source. De plus, des partenariats stratégiques continus sont établis avec les intégrateurs systèmes, qui ont vu cette année les revenus générés par cette alliance croître de 20 %. Ce programme sera d’ailleurs déployé aux États-Unis cette année. En parallèle, nous continuons de développer de solides partenariats technologiques mondiaux. Nous accompagnons également de plus en plus de startups dans leur développement et nous commencerons à soutenir cette année des startups américaines. Nous contribuons aussi à la croissance d’éditeurs de logiciels grâce à notre label Open Trusted Cloud. Enfin, nous renforçons notre accompagnement d’écoles et de laboratoires de recherche.

3. Un cloud de confiance

Notre cloud garantit la souveraineté de vos données, en particulier si la gouvernance de ces dernières est en jeu. Nous vous laissons en outre la liberté de choix concernant leur localisation. De plus, nous nous engageons à ne jamais utiliser vos données ou à entrer en conflit d’intérêts avec vous. Nous vous garantissons également que tous nos datacenters sont en conformité avec les réglementations locales en matière de gestion des données. Nos offres ont par ailleurs obtenu les plus hautes certifications en matière de sécurité des données, avec SecNumCloud en France. Nous vous protégeons également des lois extraterritoriales comme le CLOUD Act. Enfin, pour les données les plus sensibles, nous vous donnons la possibilité de déployer nos solutions directement dans vos datacenters ou avec du matériel et des logiciels déconnectés d’Internet.

4. Un cloud durable

Avec plus de 20 ans d’innovation industrielle, nous sommes les pionniers d’un cloud respectueux de l’environnement. Le résultat : nous consommons 7 fois moins d’eau que l’industrie grâce au watercooling. Concernant l’électricité, 80 % de notre consommation provient d’énergies renouvelables etnous visons les 100 % d’énergie low carbon à l’horizon 2025. Nous sommes totalement transparents quant à notre empreinte carbone. Nous communiquons en effet l’ensemble des émissions (Scope 1, 2 et 3) dont la majorité provient de la consommation des serveurs. Nous poursuivons d’ailleurs nos efforts pour réduire cette dernière. Nous nous engageons à contribuer au NetZero planétaire sur l’ensemble de nos émissions d’ici 2030*. En parallèle, nous poursuivons nos investissements en matière d’innovation industrielle comme l’immersion cooling qui, en immergeant les serveurs dans un liquide, dissipera efficacement la chaleur émise par l’ensemble de leurs composants. Cela nous permettra ainsi d’assurer un niveau de consommation d’eau et d’électricité minimal jusque dans les zones climatiques les plus rudes. Nous pratiquons aussi l’économie circulaire : nous démontons 100 % de nos serveurs puis testons rigoureusement tous nos composants afin de leur donner une seconde vie au sein d’OVHcloud ou de les recycler. Nous nous engageons d’ailleurs à atteindre le zéro déchet en 2025 sur tous nos sites actuels.

We have developed 30 new services, enriching our database, storage, artificial intelligence, sovereignty and resilience solutions. With these services, we can help you develop innovative solutions more quickly, modernise your IT infrastructures and approach new types of uses, all while offering you unbeatable value for money,  so you can control how your cloud costs evolve. We are also expanding our international presence to be as close as possible to your markets: in the next two years, we will add 15 new datacentres to our 33 existing datacentres spread across four continents. More and more of you are coming to us from the US and Asian markets, with growth of nearly 80% this year in the US and 45% in Asia.

2. A Solid Ecosystem

We have formed a relationship of trust with our communities and with those who, like us, believe in an open, interoperable and reversible cloud. Octave Klaba, founder and chairman of OVHcloud, has also reaffirmed our commitment to making our Public Cloud accessible to the developer community via open source. What’s more, ongoing strategic partnerships are being established with system integrators, which this year saw revenue from these collaborations grow by 20%. The programme will be launched in the United States later this year. At the same time, we are continuing to develop strong global technology partnerships. We are supporting more and more startups in their development, and we will start supporting American startups this year. We are also helping software publishers grow thanks to our Open Trusted Cloud label. Finally, we are strengthening our support of schools and research laboratories.

3. A Trusted & Sovereign Cloud

Our cloud guarantees the sovereignty of your data, especially if data governance is at stake. We also give you the freedom of choosing your data’s physical location. We promise that we will never use your data, and that we will never run into any conflicts of interest with you. We also guarantee that all our datacentres are compliant with local data management regulations. Our solutions have obtained the highest data security certifications with SecNumCloud in France, and you are protected from extraterritorial laws such as the CLOUD Act. Finally, for the most sensitive data, you can deploy our solutions directly in your datacentres, or with hardware and software that are disconnected from the internet.

4. A Sustainable Cloud

With over 20 years of industrial innovation, we are pioneering an environmentally-friendly cloud. As a result, we use 7 times less water than the industry average thanks to water cooling. In terms of electricity, 80% of our consumption comes from renewable energy sources and we are aiming for 100% low carbon energy by 2025. We are totally transparent about our carbon footprint; We report all of our Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, the majority of which come from server consumption, and we are continuing our efforts to reduce these amounts too. We are committed to contributing to full-scope Global Net Zero by 2030*. At the same time, we are continuing our investments in industrial innovations such as immersion cooling: effectively dissipating the heat emitted by server components by immersing the machines in a liquid. This will allow us to ensure a minimum level of water and electricity consumption, even in the harshest climate zones. We also practise a circular economy: we dismantle 100% of our servers, then rigorously test all of our components to either give them a second life within OVHcloud, or recycle them. We are committed to achieving zero waste by 2025* at all our current sites.

During this international event (Europe, Americas, Asia-Pacific), more than 50 sessions were led by users, contributors, experts and partners, who shared their testimonials and feedback. Each day was opened with highlight speeches from Michel Paulin, CEO of OVHcloud, and Octave Klaba, Founder and Chairman of OVHcloud — who brought a number of guests to the virtual stage.

With a recent €350 million capital injection Pairs and a market capitalization of nearly €4 billion following an initial public offering (IPO) on the regulated market of Euronext, OVHcloud is entering a new phase of its expansion. Almost a month later, the Ecosystem Experience presented an opportunity to make joint announcements.

Accelerating the development of new, value-based cloud solutions

To meet a wide range of customer needs — including digital native companies, public and private organisations, DevOps, and reseller and integrator partners — OVHcloud continues to develop its four product categories: Bare Metal Cloud, Hosted Private Cloud, Public Cloud and Web Cloud. It is expanding these categories through Artificial Intelligence solutions, DBaaS tools, application platforms, storage, backup and orchestration services. These solutions are always offered at a predictable price, and with a performance/cost ratio that is unique on the market — so that our customers can maintain total control over their cloud strategy.

To support companies’ digital transformation by offering a set of ready-to-use tools, OVHcloud is accelerating the integration of software technologies into its solution portfolio by combining its long-standing expertise in Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) with Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions. It is achieving this through:

• Partnerships such as Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) solutions with MongoDB and Aiven, to offer open-source or non-open-source managed database solutions (MongoDB clusters, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis and Apache Kafka, as well as Elasticsearch, M3 and Apache Cassandra in their beta-testing versions) — and the collaborative web development platform with Platform.sh).
• Its own R&D (with AI Notebooks that developers and data scientists can test out for free – and AI Training, for example, disruptive AI PaaS solutions, and soon an AI Studio with solutions for processing images, speech and text — to facilitate the adoption of AI technology in most companies).
• Acquisitions of technological building blocks (with the upcoming launch of a High Performance Object Storage solution following the acquisition of OpenIO, currently in its beta-testing phase) and soon, a High Performance Block Storage solution with the acquisition of Exten Technologies).

OVHcloud guarantees its customers data sovereignty by enabling them to choose the location of their data, protect them from outside interference, and ensure compliance with local regulations. It also upholds its promise not to exploit this data to optimise its AI models, or for commercial purposes. This commitment was recently reinforced with the advent of Hosted Private Cloud solutions qualified as SecNumCloud (ANSSI Security Visa), which reflects their compliance with the highest security and trust standard in Europe. This is also demonstrated by the G-Cloud compliance in the UK, C5 in Germany — and AGID in Italy — obtained by OVHcloud to address the public sector market across Europe.

Furthermore, this promise is reflected in the Hosted Private Cloud powered by Anthos solution — Google Anthos’s sovereign version of the solution, which was recently launched and guarantees dedicated private cloud and total isolation with Google Cloud.

Soon OVHcloud will be adding similar solutions to its portfolio with Nutanix, available now in Beta.

OVHcloud achieved SAP® Certification for cloud and Infrastructure Operations and launched in October the first offer for hosting your SAP environments in a trusted cloud based on our High-Grade Bare Metal. OVHcloud will be complete similar solutions to its portfolio with a second SAP offer now in Beta.

The next step for OVHcloud is to ensure its customers’ technological  sovereignty, by enabling them to control the underlying technology and avoid vendor lock-in situations. Its Public Cloud, for example, is based on OpenStack. To go even further, OVHcloud will offer a platform of open cloud solutions, allowing PaaS to be shared with all players who are waiting for more standards, openness and reversibility — and who can both use and enhance them. OVHcloud solutions are designed for interoperability and reversibility, in line with recommendations from GAIA-X. Pierre Gronlier, CTO of GAIA-X, also shed light on the recent progress of this initiative to implement a decentralised, open and sovereign data infrastructure.

A number of OVHcloud partners gave their testimonials on these strategic topics — including Raghu Raghuram, CEO of VMware, Rob Bissett, Product Manager at Google Cloud, and Vincent Robert, Partner Project Manager at Platform.sh.

Getting closer to international customers, in compliance with local legislations

To serve its communities around the world, OVHcloud is broadening its global presence by expanding existing datacentres (particularly in Europe and Canada), and opening sites in new regions (e.g. the US, India, the Asia-Pacific region), while guaranteeing its customers operational sovereignty, since they retain the freedom to choose where their data is stored.

So for large companies that must respond to strategic and economic sovereignty issues, whether they are local or European, OVHcloud is now delivering its services in volume — from 3 to several racks, to Datacentre-as-a-Service — allowing its customers to define how their Cloud is operational and deployed.

Furthermore, all OVHcloud solutions are compliant with currently applicable legislations, depending on the sector or location: GDPR for personal data, for example, and HDS for healthcare data. Among others, Raphaël-David Lasseri — Founder and CEO of Magic Lemp — delivered a solid reminder about the importance of this compliance during a session dedicated to healthcare data challenges. To illustrate the guarantee of data immunity from extraterritorial laws, Cristina Guttuso — Chief Legal Officer of OVHcloud — hosted a conference on the new framework for European data transfers.

Finally, although its datacentres are already compliant with regulations, OVHcloud is announcing the creation of a new resilience standard for datacentres that will soon be shared more widely. It is currently being used for the construction of its new datacentres, and reviewed for upgrades to its existing datacentres. OVHcloud is also exploring solutions that will enable it to provide customers with regular backups in a datacentre that is remote from most services.

Offering support programs for collective success

In order to support its growing ecosystem, OVHcloud is continuing to strengthen and deploy its support programs on an international level. These include the Partner Program, Startup Program, Marketplace and Open Trusted Cloud, which are based on non-exclusive engagements. Among many others, Mariana Caillaud, Founder and CEO of Dolipharm, Rita Nazarian, Partnership Manager of IPaidThat, and Roberto Correnti, CTO of Full IP Solutions, shared their feedback on the benefits of these programs.

Pursuing a comprehensive innovation policy geared towards sustainability

As an integral part of its DNA, OVHcloud’s vertical model is essential for sustainable innovation. The company is paving the way towards an eco-friendly cloud through its own R&D and collaboration with providers (to aim for a transparent carbon footprint of server components), cloud market players (notably through a common commitment in the Climate Neutral Data Centre Pact), and customers (it will soon be providing a carbon footprint calculator for their cloud resource usage).

To achieve its goal of zero net emissions by 2030 — and anticipate new use cases that require very high performance — OVHcloud is now testing an immersion cooling prototype. This is a unique concept, as it involves combining immersion-cooling and water-cooling technology, which OVHcloud has been developing for the last 18 years.

Thomas Arenz, Director of Marketing Communications and Strategic Business Development for EMEA at Samsung, Thibaut de La Bouverie, Partner, Cloud Transformation Lead at Deloitte and Romain Rouvoy, Professor at INRIA, also spoke about the environmental challenges of the cloud at a dedicated conference.
